![]() ![]() I've been reminded by other people who've commented on this post that the moon itself is not just solely bodies, but that a big portion of the moon is also the crust of a planet, and the inside is a mass of tentacles, eyes and a beak looking thing like we saw in dead space, which explains why in Dead Space 1, the marker manipulated us into taking it down to the planet, I think this was a maneuver done to get it closer to the colony of bodies and the hive mind (which for all we know is made up of a lot more bodies than we know of) but also possibly to get it close enough to planetary crust it would need to drag up into it to complete its form. In lore, its believed the rest or majority of intelligent life in the galaxy has been assimilated by the Moons and humanity is the last remaining species, owing to the name "Dead Space". AFAIK they can travel the galaxy at will, likely capable of interstellar travel. ![]() ![]() I think the Moons rely on more than one population or species in their growth, however, and increase in size planet by planet. I am also of the believe that the Moons use some of the planet itself and infrastructure for mass). The Spawl was home to one million people like you said, making it a much better suit for a Convergence Event and Moon. Remember that immense Necromorphs like the Leviathan, Slug and Hive Mind would contribute significant mass (their existence would already require a very large amount of bodies, making the Ishi 1k crew size questionable - for the Leviathan atleast). I would imagine a Brethren Moon could still be formed from the Colony and ship combined, albeit likely a smaller one. For example Im not sure how many people were living on the Aegis VII colony (At a guess no more than 80-100k but idk), and the crew of the Ishimura is just over a thousand. It depends on where and who it is assimilating. Great post, this sub needs more lore discussions. ![]()
